Convertible

The terms cabriolet and convertible are often used interchangeably to describe a car with a folding or retractable top. In general, North American companies use the term convertible, while European manufacturers tend to use Cabriolet or Cabrio. When the top is made of a rigid material such as steel it is often referred to as a coupe cabriolet or retractable hardtop.

Unlike a roadster, which may also have a soft folding top, a cabriolet has roll-up glass windows in the sides.
