Hybrid

A hybrid car uses more than one source of power, swapping between them as necessary while on the move, and even using both when full power is required.

The majority of hybrid cars combine a gas engine with electric power, with the electricity recharging as the car cruises or brakes. They generally have excellent fuel economy and produce low emissions.
