Manual Transmission

A transmission that requires the driver to change gear, as opposed to an automatic transmission, which changes gear for you. It consists of a mechanism in the drive train with gears that varies the torque and power delivered to the driven wheels, and is operated using as a lever that the driver operates in conjunction with the clutch.
