Roll Over Protection System (ROPS)

A system that consists of two pyrotechnically charged roll hoops hidden behind the rear seats of a convertible. When sensors detect an imminent rollover, the roll hoops extend and lock in place in less than 1/10th of a second. Car that use this system include the Jaguar XK and Volvo C70 convertible models.
