Planning Your Journey

When researching the interview you will have found out where the interview is due to be held. You should also have made a decision about what time you will need to set off and how you intend to travel. Make sure to bring any instructions that the company has sent you on how to find the office or building, together with any other maps or directions that may be useful.

If you are driving, make sure that your car is relatively clean and tidy; you never know who might see it. You should also ensure that you have plenty of coins to pay for parking meters.

Even though you might arrive at the site an hour in advance, do not announce your arrival to the receptionist until 5 or 10 minutes before your interview is due to start. Take this time to freshen up and check your appearance, and to review your interview responses.

However, if you have been delayed for any reason or think you might be late, make sure that you call ahead to let the interviewer know.

No matter what form of transport you take, plan to arrive about an hour in advance of your interview time; you may encounter delays that are completely out of your control.
