During the Interview
Although no two interviews will be exactly the same, many of them will follow a very similar format. They often begin with some gentle 'warm up' questions, designed to help you to settle in and let you become as relaxed as possible. The main portion of the interview usually consists of a number of questions intended to test your suitability for the job, and how well you would fit in with the organization. The final stage gives you an opportunity to ask your own questions and finishes with the interviewer closing the discussion with an indication of how the selection process will proceed; whether that will involve a meeting with other staff members, a second interview, or a letter telling you the result of the interview.
In this section, we look at how to behave during the interview, including advice on how to make that all important first impression, how to present a positive image using body language and how to avoid making any of the classic interview mistakes that could cost you your dream job.
