Liability Insurance

Liability insurance is a product designed to offer specific protection against third party claims, and as such payment is not typically made to the insured, but rather to someone suffering loss who is not a party to the insurance contract. Liability Insurance will protect you or your business from loss resulting from your legal responsibility in causing injury or damage to other people or their property.

In many countries, liability insurance is mandatory for those at risk of being sued by third parties for negligence. The most usual types of mandatory policy cover the drivers of vehicles, those who offer employment, those who offer professional services to the public and those who manufacture products that may be harmful.

In this section we investigate the different types of liability policy available, and whether or not you need to consider investing in such a plan.
