Choosing the Right Property
In the real estate world, the 3 golden rules about finding the right property are: location, location, location. It really does mean everything and it's the cornerstone of the asking price.
However, your decision to buy will be based on what the location means to you and how long you plan to stay there. Are you buying to rent out a property in an area that will appeal to a particular type of tenants, such as students or business people? Is this property going to be a stepping-stone to a larger home, or do you plan to stay for the foreseeable future? Make sure that you think carefully about your needs and how they might change, how an area may change over time, and keep in mind possible resale values.
Before you start looking for a house or condo, you will need to draw up a list of features you will need from your new home, such as the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, the size of the kitchen, garage and garden. Always make sure that you view a property several times before committing to a sale; there are many things that you will need to think about before buying, so don't feel pressurised into rushing your decision.
