Tiling Preparation

As well as creating a practical waterproof and durable surface, tiles are excellent for covering up imperfect plaster or dated tiles. Before tiling, you'll need to make sure the surface is dry and reasonably smooth, although minor cracks and bumps will be covered by the adhesive. If there are traces of damp on the surface you are going to tile, the cause must be identified and remedied before you start working.
