Internet Access

The Internet originated in the 1970s with a few government organizations  and universities passing information around in a private network. Having taken off in 1993-4 with the development of the World Wide Web, the Internet now comprises of millions of pages of information on almost every conceivable subject, and includes pictures, music files, video clips, and software. People without computers can use cell phones and digital and cable TV services to surf the Web.
