After You Move In

In the days following your move you may need to do some, or all, of the following:

Around the House

• Change all the external locks, including the garage.
• Review additional security. Are there locks on the windows? You might also consider installing an alarm system.
• You may need to order a delivery of oil or have the gas installation checked if you have oil or gas-fired central heating.
• If you have an open fire, you may need to order wood.

In the Community

• Contact the local government offices and other organizations such as tourist information to get details about local amenities, sports facilities and clubs.
• Say Hi to your neighbors. This is very important if you want to become part of the local community.
• Plan your house-warming party and invite your neighbors to it!
