Bathroom Ideas
After the kitchen, the bathroom is the second most important room in the house in the buyer's eyes, and it must be spotlessly clean and tidy.
Bathroom Tips and Tricks
- Paint the walls white or a pastel shade
- Fit new drapes or blinds
- Reduce the number of toiletries on display to a minimum - put away your everyday basic stuff, and invest in some luxurious looking items to put out on show
- Remove clutter, reading material and bath toys
- Change any tired looking bathroom fittings - installing modern taps can dramatically improve the look of a bathroom suite
- Replace an ineffective shower head with a power shower attachment
- Fit a new toilet seat and make sure the toilet looks (and smells) hygienic
- Repair chips in the bath or basin with enamel paint
- Install a new or second-hand bathroom suite if the one you have is past saving
- Install new lighting if it looks dated, or if it makes the room dark and dingy
- Install a large mirror, which will make a small bathroom appear larger
- Replace garish tiles or paint them white and re-grout and reseal where necessary
- Fit new flooring - cork or vinyl tiles are inexpensive
- Install cupboards or additional storage
- Buy a new shower drape, cotton mats and fluffy towels - all in toning neutral shades
| You may need to replace an outdated colored suite (brown, blue, or so on) with a white or cream one. You can do this relatively cheaply if you avoid expensive showrooms. |
