MP3

An MP3 - MPEG Audio Layer-3 - is a computer file format that stores audio files in a way that keeps the size of the file relatively small while keeping the quality of the sound as close to the original as possible. The aim of MP3 files was to create the same sound quality as a CD, but reduce the file size by a factor of anywhere from 10 to 14 times.
